Captain Kangaroo reminded us to never forget the magic words, “Abracadabra, Please, and Thank You.” Today’s magic word is Thank You. We live in great neighborhood. But what makes a neighborhood? The homes, fancy cars on the street? A real neighborhood is people, and we live in the best neighborhood.
I like every person who lives here. I like their dogs and cats. We like each other. Today two neighbors arrived. They noticed a task that needed to be done and would be difficult for Sandy and me. They did it for us and wished us Merry Christmas. So the word of the day is Thank You. (I’m defining Thank You as one word, by the way.)
I shall try to pass the good deed along, and I sincerely say Thank You and a Merry Christmas to you, as well, and to all of those who stop by Popping Wheelies.
Merry Christmas and Happy Hanukkah!
It is a beautiful Florida evening, and I thought perhaps this would be a good time to renew my commitment to sharing with you. Sandy and I are esconed is comfortable seats on our lanai with a nice flame in the fire pit. Twinkle lights and Christmas trees surround us.
All day long the Crock Pot gave promise of a warm, tasty beef stew. A nice bowl at our small, fireside table made for a wonderful dinner. After dinner my rippled glass holds a serving of the house wine. It’s inexpensive, but I like it. Sandy found the glass for me. I fits my hand, and I like the tactile additive to the aroma and taste.
There has been so much happening. The usual pre-Christmas preparations, mailing packages, some surgery that set off my MS, what we hope are the final construction workmen. There has been blessed time with family and friends, as well.
